A new home for the Saxon Ship

The Longshed has been built on the former Whisstocks site on the water front in Woodbridge. The building can be seen in the photographs below as the shorter construction to the left of the colourful residential flats.

The Longshed building will carry on the traditional boatbuilding and maritime theme that Whisstocks provided to the town for so many years. As the Anglo Saxon Ship and many other boatbuilding projects start to unfold within the Longshed, visitors will be able to take part, watch and observe.

More information about the story of the Longshed can be found on the Woodbridge Riverside Trust Website who were instrumental in making it happen.
