From 30 April for 6 weeks, we are running a “Crowd Funder” campaign to try and raise £50,000 for the Ship’s ongoing build, with a further stretch target to help with rent, resources and supervision. We have not been eligible for any large grant funds and need to fundraise in as many ways as possible to get the ship on the water.

Crowd Funders are online pages where people donate money to a cause and can choose to receive a treat in return, they work in a very similar way to many sponsorship pages you may have seen for people taking on physical challenges to raise money for their causes.

In our case – no marathons need to be run, ridden or rowed, this is a purely online activity and based around a social media campaign to get the Ship known as widely as possible and to reach lots of potential donors so we can reach our target.

Apart from donating, if you would be happy to do so, please could you consider sharing social media posts about the campaign during its duration or with friends and family and ask them to share the word too. This can be done by liking, commenting on and reposting Ship’s Company posts about the crowd funder; using one of the prewritten posts below or even creating a post yourself with your own pictures or a video. Anything you do will benefit the fundraising!
