Jamie Clay, a consultant to TSC, has been a wooden boatbuilder and restorer par excellence for many years.  Just look at his website for the evidence! He says that in restoration, his aim is to lose nothing of the original aesthetics, and to preserve authentic, period detail. The lack of attention to such detail can often erode away at the finished result to the extent that the whole character of the original boat, in both appearance and even performance, can be diminished or lost.  So this makes him an ideal candidate to be a critical friend of the build programme.  He will keep us on the straight and narrow and his advice means that we will be more sure of achieving the beautiful final shape we want.

In January 2020 Jamie joined the Ship’s Co. Crew to assist with the shipbuild. Jamie will work alongside Tim Kir, Master Shipwright to ensure that we have continuity and debate.
