Tim Kirk is the Sutton Hoo Ship’s Company, Master Shipwright. Since 2019 Tim has been interpreting the ship’s plans and archaeological evidence to build a replica of the Sutton Hoo Ship that was found buried in mound 1 at Sutton Hoo in 1939.

As part of his role, Tim leads an increasing number of volunteers to convert timber using Anglo-Saxon techniques into the different components of the ship. During the festival, Tim and his Crew will be on hand and demonstrating some of the ancient techniques used.

On Saturday 3 June  there will be an opportunity to hear Tim talk about the project to date and for you to ask questions.
