The Thegns of Mercia are thrilled to be supporting the Saxon Festival and will be providing a living encampment at the Sutton Hoo National Trust site from Saturday 27 May to Monday 29 May.
The Thegns of Mercia are a not-for-profit educational living history group based across the UK, with 18 members from various backgrounds, including historic craftspeople, archaeology and history graduates. We run public-facing encampment-based educational events at Sutton Hoo at least twice per year, and last year also curated their ‘Anglo-Saxon Yule‘ exhibition.
